I've had my 8.5" KW on backorder for three weeks from Eastern Performance. I hope I get it before too long. Looking forward to giving it a try.

I have had several shields including the 10.5" KW and now the 8.5". I LOVE my 8.5". I am 6' tall and for me it is perfect.

Default In this video, you can see my 8.5 shield I put on my 13 SG.

I tried the 6 inch model before putting the 8.5 on and very pleased with it.

I'm the same height and inseam as you and had the same problem. On my 2008 FLHT I used the 8.5" KW shield and it was perfect. I also used the 3 pocket windshield bag with it. On my 2010 SESG I use the 6.5" KW. Kinda odd but the 8.5" is better on the FLHT and the 6.5" is better on the SG.

I had the 6 1/2" that was too short. Too much wind, plus it would not fit with the Garmin 660 Fairing mount GPS. Went to the 8 1/2" and at 5'10" with a Corbin seat (little lower than stock), the top of the shield was right in the middle of my line of sight.

Solution: I lowered the 8 1/2 to about 7 1/2" and it is near perfect for me. Still blocks the wind, but is below eye level, and the curve distortion is not distracting.
