Here's my dillemma...the original owner of my 05 UC had replaced the Air Temp gauge with the HD Oil Temp gauge and totally removed the Deutch connector. I am now in the midst of install my Dakota Digital Dash, but because I don't have the Deutch connector I intend on using Stacon spaded connectors for the Oil Temp gauge. My question is which of the 3 wires (Signal, Ignition & Ground) attach to which corresponding terminal on the back of the Oil Temp gauge? Here's a pic ...

I'd help but my Service Manual is at the shop.
Do you have one?
The wiring diagram to each instrument is in the back.
Interconnect Harness, I believe it's called.

Good luck with it.
Service Manual won't help...my issue is that the Dakota Temp Gauge terminals aren't marked, thus I need to identify which connection/wire goes to which terminal. I'm sure I could just try each of them, but I would hate to "fry" the gauge.
Bro?
The factory wires & plug, plug into the back of the stock guage.
You unplug the factory plug and plug it into the Dakota.
Look in your manual and visually notice how those wires would be in the plug.
Then think of unplugging from the stock guage and plugging into the Dakota.
"See" where the wires go?
There is no "factory plug" on the back of the HD Oil Temp Gauge. Just 3 terminal studs,Signal, Ignition & Ground. The issue I having is that I don't know what each of the 3 terminal on the back of the Dakota gauge are. I know they are Signal, Ignition & Ground; but which is which? As I stated in my original post, "the factory Deutch connector was cut off".

I realize the guy you bought the bike from cut the plug out.
That's OK.
Visualize this for a minute........
You bought a new plug...you open the manual to see what wires go to what socket hole...you install those wires in their holes...you plug it back to the stock guage...it works...then you unplug the stock guage...plug it in the Dakota...viola!
Dakota's are plug 'n play.
At least the Dakota you pictured is.
