Default Rear brake howl!

Hey guys!
What's happ?
Lately my rear brake has been making a howl type of noise when I apply the brakes so I did a search to learn how to remove them so I could just take a quick look/inspect/clean type of thing'
I learned about taking the inside one out first, reinstalling, and then putting those pins back in and applying pressure to seat that inner one so it doesn't move when removing the outer one.
That's all cool but when I try to get the outer one off that inner one wants to drop also'
I don't want that anti-rattle spring to drop out cause I heard it's a bear getting back so how do you do it without that inner pad dropping?

P.S Just had a tire put on a few weeks ago and the brake pads looked ok but just lately been making the noise. Almost seemed to start after riding to work in some heavy rain a week ago...

Thanks guys
Pete

I heard a slight howl coming from the rear of my scoot Saturday. I stopped and looked it over and found my belt to be a bit more than one the tight side. It was the belt howling, not the brakes. I headed to the crib to adjust it. All is smooth and quiet once more. When I mentioned it to my tech, he said he's noticed that every single scoot delivered recently has had the belt adjusted way to tight.
Your having had the wheel off recently, this is where I think you should take a look and see. I did the R&R on my rear recently and the belt was just barely on the tight side. I never imagined it would tighten as time went. If anything, I would have thought it would loosen.
If it is the brake, I suggest rinsing it off well to get the dirt and brake dust off of the caliper and rotor. Slight chance the rear wheel out of line maybe?

When I recently installed new rear pads I removed the entire caliper--once that is done installation becomes very easy.

It's not the belt, it only happens when I apply the rear brake.

Does anone know how to hold that inside pad against the rotor so I can pull the pad pins and take out that outer pad?
I don't want the anti-rattle spring to drop out..

You are doing it the hard way...

Like Tim said... "remove the entire caliper"

Then put some CRC "brake quiet" on the back of each pad.

I just did this myself. I ended up holding inner pad with one hand, and with pins in just enough to hold them inserted outer pad and pushed pins in with thumb.

Myking!
Thanks buddy!
I was thinking about that idea. Seems easier than taking the axle out
and the caliper right?
Going to try it.
