Default Hidden antenna only

Im putting together a faring for my Road king to be orderd from woody and I see he uses a hidden type antenna in the faring. What is the opinion of this type of antenna alone does it work well? would I be better off adding and fixed antenna to the bike also?

I am not a big fan. I had a couple not to mention any names and they did not work well. I'll stick with my antenna any day.

It really will depend on your local radio stations, and reception in your area.

Some people find the receptions sucks. Others say it works just as good as the factory location.
There is no clear cut answer for everyone.

My hidden antenna works as well as my stock antenna. Mine was $30 roughly, a small risk to hide the thing.

Do these things die? Mine used to be great - and now, it's not working so well. I guess I'm going to try to replace it, but I really don't listen to the radio much anyway.

Picked up one at Advance Auto for $20.00. Works okay, but not as good as the external whip.

My hidden antenna works ok here, but the external one would work better.
Here in Canada the towers are few and far between ,so the service is not as good as in the US. When I drove long haul , in the US never had a prob finding a station to listen to.Up here not so much. Thinking maybe going with sat radio ?
