Everyone I know who had the older frame & upgraded to the 2009 or 2010 bikes, LOVE IT. The Most negative things that I have heard of is the "nail clipper" windshield & the 2 into 1 exhaust. Both items are things that most folks change anyway. Whatever shield you are currently using now you can use for the 2010 model.
Currently my ride is a 09 CVO Roadie. I can't believe how well this thing handles. Better frame, larger tire, more payload, abs brakes, etc. on the 2009/2010. Also the 2010 models allow you to order the "ultra" lower fairings that are vented and cheaper!
If you are on the fence, I would wait till August and see what the 2011 models will bring out. I hate to start any rumors but "tour glide"? Either way, if you are going to change up to a 2009 or 2010 model. You WON'T be disappointed. Good Luck!

I traded my 08 RG for a 10 RG. I can tell you that the 6 gallon tank and the retooling of the gears is a positive. 6th gear is more user friendly, but with that said, MPG suffers a bit. The bike does handle better in the turns due to the new frame. If you ride two up, you will prolly change the rear shocks since they are shorter, along with the shield. Other than that, it is a Road Glide.
I know allot of folks are wanting the RG Ultra, but for me I prefer the sportier look. I dont want all those lights, bumpers on the fenders etc. I will fight the geezer glide look as long as I can.
I added a detachable tour pak for trips.
JMO though.

I definetly want the 6 gallon tank, ABS and new frame. I think the 180 tire is a bonus and the 18 wheel has grown on me considerably. I just came off a 21" back to stock 16". That being said if you raise the rear to 13" shocks does that basically put you in the same geometry as a 09' roadglide?

I would assume it would. All touring frames are the same. I am actually trying the progressive 940's, same height as I have now,but gives the ride of a 13in shock. We will see. Hope I didnt waste 500.00 bucks.
