WOW, I mean WOW!! I'm glad I listened.
Don't want to start another oil thread, but am I glad I listened and changed my Tranny oil to Redline SPH I went out riding today. when I got home the UPS guy had delivered my Redline oil. I put the bike on the jack and drained the Mobil1 75W90 and put the RLSPH in. Buttoned everything up and went out for another ride. All I can say is wow can I tell a difference. Much quieter when changing gears. It even felt smoother. I ran it through all the gears at different speeds. I like it!!!
Thanks is all I can say!!!:icon_worthy: |
The Cycle Gear shop in my area has this, but I haven't paid attention to the price. If you don't mind, wWhere did you get yours, and what was the cost with shipping.

Your welcome, eventually everybody will figure it out!:D

Ive been using redline in all three holes for about 20,000 miles, love the stuff. told my friends the bike shifts better and clutch hookup felt stronger, they didnt belive me so i got them some heavyshock and mtl. we went on a 3000 mile trip recently and before we left we all changed oils and they used the redline i got for them, well they are belivers now. also i guess im lucky, my son works at a performance parts store and i get my oil at his cost.

I just changed mine out a couple of hours ago but I haven't taken it out for a test ride yet. Probably tomorrow as I want to change out the oil also. I am really curious as to weather it fixes the old clunk or at least quiets it down. I'm not sure what I drained out but it didn't look like much and not as thick as I thought it would be. This new pepto should really be interesting. Oh, paid 12.95 at Summit Racing (just down the road).

I'm a firm believer in the Twin Cam 96 in motor's with six speed tranny's. to use motor oil for the engine. Gear oil for the Tranny and ATF for the primary. The Redline Shockproof Heavy is formulated heavy enough for gear shock. I really believe now that the mobil1 75W90 Gear oil was too light for my Transmission. When I dumped it today, it ran out like water! Look at my sig pic. I believe I'm close to the best lube combo to be had. Maybe Redline Motor oil is better, we'll have to see!

Which weights do you use for which hole?
Redline Shockproof Heavy in tranny 20/50 in crank (Mobil 1 or Amsoil....price dependent) Dexron III ATF (non syn) in primary |
Thanks for the tip. I'm about due anyway.
