I have these speakers with a ARC mini and I must say they are nice. They'll definitely sound better then the 5 1/4" that you have.

I have used the Kappa's on three different bikes -- they are excellent speakers--check out ebay and amazon for the best deals

I was stuck between the Infinity Kappa's , & the Boston Accoustic PRO SE series. I went to a high end audio shop that had both, ........and the choice was simple for me.

I went with the Boston's. The Infinity's are a good speaker, but I thought it would be a tough choice,...and it wasn't.

Good luck with whatever choice you make ! Anything will be better than what you are listening to now !!

Sorry for hijacking the thread but are the infinity speakers a direct replacement or do I have to make an adapter? Do they work ok without an amp?

You'll have to buy adapter rings I got mine from www.throttleupindustries.com These are 4 ohm speakers and the stock radio is 2 ohms so they won't work very well unless you get an amp or at least replace the stock radio.

I have Infinity 6 1/2" speakers in my 08 Street Glide. They sound great. They are powered by an Arc Audio amp and are mounted with 541 Baggers Speaker rings. I also pulled off the stock grills so you can see the whole speakers which look great in the fairing.
