Fricken Battery
Last year I bought my 2012 FLHRC as a new leftover, now my battery is giving me issues. Called the dealer here in Germany, they told me they will not honor my US spec bike warranty here in Germany. Gotta buy a new one, no big deal just wondering what the forum guys recommend? I read that Optima is making a cycle battery anyone know anything about it?

..boy!..something must have changed in the batteries they make now compared to 10 years ago...I'm on year 9 with my 2005 FLHTC.., and it still works fine...I see more and more posts by people who are getting just 2-3 years out of a battery???..I would say stay away from Harley batteries and try something different...2 years is a joke!

Go with what ever you find in Germany that has a Germany warranty! My experience with ANY leftover vehicle is that they have been sitting there all along discharging Think about it! Assuming that the bike could be up to 1 year old already (or more), it would have been sitting there discharging until when bought and then only been put on a quick charge to get it out the door.

I charged it and then did a load test...apparantly I have a bad cell...two days off the tender and she's DEAD.....
I am going to try and get with Harley Europe...even though the bike was purchsed through Excange New Car Sales (AAFES partner) they should cover it...after all I had to pick it up from a German dealership that it was imported to. The German dealership is telling me that they only honor the German warranty...1 year on the battery NOT Harley's two year commitment ...three days past that mark.. but they are six hours away, and for $100 I don't want to mess with it it will cost me more to make the trip probably...
thanks for the replies...I am checking Amazon!

There is every bit as comprehensive a bike network in Europe as North America, except the brands may be different. You have no shortage of German bike battery suppliers! Take a look at German Ebay, where there are stacks of batteries for Harleys for sale. They even call them 'gel batterie', which makes life easy!
