Drive belt will not stay adjusted?

Can't figure it out. We're sure we're tight enough on the axle nut.
Is there something that holds the thing tight that maybe wears out?

Stupid question but...you have adjusted the the 2 adjuster bolts haven't ya???

the belt will change tension depending on wheel rotation. meaning tat when you rotate the wheel the tension will change. depending on how out of round the wheel or sprocket is would be how much change in deflection.

Is the axle adjuster cams worn for some reason?

Are you following the procedure:

1) Loosen axle nut then torque to 15 - 20 ft lbs
2) Adjust belt per spec
3) Final torque axle nut to 95 - 105 ft lbs

Is there some grease behind the cam adjuster, axle nut, etc?

Are the blocks on the swingarm that the cam rides on in good shape?

Just some ideas to check off the top of my head.

Touring models don't have adjusting nuts those are on Soft tail or may be some other models.

There should be a nub on each side of the frame that each axle cam tightens against. I can't imagine that those would wear out. The right side axle cam is separate from the axle, that isn't missing is it?
