New 124" build won't start: VTD related?
I just finished putting my 124" build together and can't get it to start (2009 StreetGlide).
I used a 58mm Screamin' Eagle FBW throttle body with the 5.3gps injectors.
In order to do my heat cycle, I used my 107" TTS map from last year but increased the displacement and the injector size in the constant table.
The engine turns over nicely, I have spark on both cylinders, the oil pressure light goes off, RPM registers on the tach, but the bike just won't start.
I bolted the injectors to my stock TB (out of the bike) and checked the injectors one at a time and they do not spray. I connected the injectors to a 12v powerpack and they do click open. I checked the injector connectors, when probing both sides of the connector, the voltmeter hovers around 10v and the test light doesn't light up. When probing the 12v wire of the connector and the battery ground pole, I register 12v on the voltmeter and the test light does light up.
I tested compression, I have 190 and 191 (rings not seated).
I tried shooting a bit of starter fluid down the intake and it does stumble and wants to start.
Doing a logging with DataMaster, the VTD box is red with a value of one.
Is my bike locked up by the security system, not allowing it to start? I did have a few issues with the alarm, I changed the batteries in the fobs and the 9v in the alarm itself.
Can anyone confirm that a bit value of 1 in the VTD box is a lockdown from the security system. Also can anyone tell me if when in lockdown, restart is prevented by the ECM not supplying the 12v necessary for the injectors to spray fuel?
Thanks in advance.

The first time I tested the injectors, I thought I could hold the injector in the rail using my fingers, I ended up having to clean gas off my bike, my work table, and my tools, so, yes, there is pressure in the system, haha!
I'm looking to buy a new fuel line, cut it and hook it up to a gauge so I can know how much pressure I have exactly.

I only used the fluid to see if I had good spark timing, it only stumbled once, just enough to say that if there was fuel, it would start.

As said with fuel pressure, Im curious to watch and see what the problem is. One bit of advice though is throw away your test light and dont ever use it on an electronic circuits. You will create more problems and will destroy electrical components. Rule #1 on any electronic circuits. Always use a DVOM.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON® FACTORY SECURITY SYSTEM DETAILS
When armed, the Security System disables the starter and ignition while monitoring the electrical system and vehicle motion with adjustable sensitivity. Minor disturbances trigger a momentary warning; major ones an unbroken thirty-second alarm after which the Security System returns to monitoring. A distinctive four-way flasher pattern is the alarm signal. An optional self-powered Smart Siren Kit adds a piercing scream that sounds even if the battery cable is cut.
According to the system operations its not your alarm. It seems like your pcm is not triggering the ground side of the injectors. You didnt say if you were cranking the engine when checking the ground side.

Any suggestions? I'm going to check continuity between ground and ECM ground pin#73 as well at continuity between the injector plug ground pins and ECM pins#23 and #28.
I think I may also put my stock throttle body in there (I have a SE 58mm now) just to see what happens. Perhaps a faulty TB inhibits the ECM's injector activity???
Thanks again.
edit - yes I was cranking the engine when checking the ground side.
