Thanks

I put my money on True-Track kits for both my Glide and Dyna. Original and best! Leaving off the rear stabilizer misses the point of improving support to the rear rubber bushings. I also own a Buell, so all three bikes have three stabilizers, a full set each.

So far you've got a great answer to a question you didn't ask. I'd be interested to hear a personal comparison between those two also.

I looked at both set ups from both dealers but I actually lived about 10 miles from Kevin Blane(STA-BO) so I went to his home and talked with him. He had a harley touring frame there with the swing arm cut in half and had me work the side with no bushing and then attempt to flex the side with his bushing. The side without the bushing had around quarter inch to half inch of slop the other side with the bushing did not. He told me that his product did what all these other more expensive stablizers do. So I purchased them with his new and improved motor mount both were less than $200. I am very happy with the way the bike handles it tightened the bike up and took out the high speed wobble. Installation was also easy. My conclusion is that for the money I spent the ease of installation and the handling improvement I got I would definitely recommend STA-BO.

I wondered about the difference also. I think the glide pro was almost $500 and that seems ludicris, the stabo looks like the best bang for the buck.

I don't have any experience with STA-BO, but I did go from a RideStr8 to Glide-Pro. With the RideStr8 system I had no excess vibration and the system worked as advertised. I had to take the RideStr8 system off when I added a Baker +1 Oil pan. I then tried the Glide-Pro system, both rear and front mounts. The Glide-Pro rear mounts certainly tightened up the rear, but created some additional and unwanted vibration. The front mount is rather soft, and after checking with the Glide-Pro company, was told to re-torque the front motor mount from 30 (original instructions) to 20 pounds. The rear mounts are the newest compound as advertised on the website. Re-Torquing did not quell the vibrations. I now have a 2010 Ultra Limited so I no longer have to deal with the situation.

I had the Bagger Brace on my bike (08 SG) for a while and it seemed to help, for the first 10K. Wobble crept back in so i read all I could on the Sta-Bo and Glide-Pro. Talked to a dealer here, called both companies, searched these forms and others.

I ordered the Sta-Bo. I had a look at the inserts that they sent which go into the stock bushings. Looked, OK, but a bit of a band-aid for a big problem. I reexamined the Glide-Pro site and called Jake, the owner.

We talked about the depth that the stock bushing go in and we discussed that his newest product does not fit inside the stock bushings, but replaces them altogether and the go in to the frame further, provided better support. The materials are also different and he uses a rod that connects both of the bushing.

Fortunately, I live in San Diego, so I took a ride down to his hanger at the airfield. We talked more and he reached in to a bucket full of stock bushings that he has replaced with his. I was shocked at what a cheap-*** part HD would have chosen for such a huge weight to depend upon.

I looked at his bushings and decided on the spot to replace mine with his.

I am very, very impressed with the results. Needless to say, replacing the bushings on an 08 does not give you an 09 frame, but the improvement is significant and was many times better than what the Bagger Brace provided even when it, and my stock bushings were new.

I can't say if the Sta-Bo would be the same, but after having compared both and seeing what a more complete fix the Glide-Pro was compared, I think Glide-Pro is well worth the added cost.

Jake, himself, is also a good guy. He installed them for me at no cost, a job that was around 2 hours, lent me his bike to go get some lunch while he worked on mine.

I would whole heartily recommend the Glide-Pro. I have a renewed happiness in my current bike and put off trading for a while longer.

I can;t answer tech questions ans I am not mechanically inclined, but if any one wants to PM me I can tell you what my experience has been.

Dredging up an old thread, but I'm trying to decide between Sta Bo or Glide Pro for my '95 Road King.

Which would you choose? pros/cons

I installed the Glide-Pro just waiting for the snow to melt to see how it works...
