Default Question for those that have ridden Streetglides and other touring bikes....

Do the rear passenger pegs on the Streetglides get in the way as much as the passenger boards on all the other FLH's? I am tired of getting bruises on the backs of my calves from banging into the boards when walking the bike into position. I have taken my boards off since I have a solo saddle on and am thinking about getting a set of take off Streetglide pegs if they are not as obtrusive as the boards.

TIA

On my EGC I swapped out the boards for pegs. It made a big difference especially when I had the OL on the back.

I use to hit my legs all the time on my road king floorboards. Since ive had my street glide with stock passenger pegs i have had no problems. I would say that would be the way to go.

Fold the boards up when not being used.... If you are backing the bike up
with a passenger on board, let them dismount first then fold boards up and
back the bike up.

This has worked for me since the bike was new.......... Then again,
it may not work for you or your circumstances.

Only time I ever have a problem is if the OL is with me. Otherwise the passenger boards are flipped up and not at all in the way.

I have a short legs so I do not have the luxury of being able to swing my legs out farther so I beat my calves on the boards whether the boards are up or down!
