Default 103 Start up?

I have a 103 Stage II with Manual Compression Release. The last few times I started it up it had a different sound (like two different engine sounds) and when I reved it the different sound went away. Could it be that one of the two MCRs is sticking? Solution if so... I am assuming replacement?

If one of the releases are sticking open after it starts, you can hear the air escaping upon compression. Sort of like a air/ticking sort of sound. Is that what you're hearing? I've heard of some folks popping them out and cleaning them but not sure what would be best to use. I'm sure others can help.....

Hard to describe the sound but it definitly is different than nomal operation. I have to take it in for the recall so I will have them check it and report back.

Take the release and work by hand in and out a few times, it will free it up. Do this every so often.

i have the same problem this is normal if your bike is a little rich thats what happens. i take mine off at differant intervals and i clean them with wd 40 and a wire brush. this will hold for awhile i have tried differant brands and they all do the same unless u install automatics. which iam thinking very seriously of doing. yes thats another expense i know.

Same as all above, one of the CRs are not resetting. Mine seems to do it more often if not ridden regually. Not a problem just blip the throttle it will set. To duplicate it you can push one of the CRs in while the bike at idle, WITH GLOVES ON.
I don't think there is a long term fix for it.

Default I had a sticky one

I had one mcr stick every time I started my bike. i had to reach down and pull it up every time i started my bike. I pulled it back off the bike poured oil into it and proceeded to pull it in and out. and also spin it trying to free up what ever was making it stick. I blew the oil out of it and so far it has not stuck since.
