We did all the stuff people are talking about above, and liked it all. There's also a little ride we took in a park that's right off the road that goes from Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge. I forgot the name of it, but it was a super cool little loop and we saw three bears on it. Here's a link to the video my wife took while we were riding on it. Skip past the first 30 seconds because she was "trying to capture how much taller the trees were down there"!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PiQxXPmrKA

Yup, that's it, thanks! Although this was a relatively short ride, it was one of my favorites for the entire week.

You are just around the corner from the dragon and the skyway. They are a must do being that close.

This is a great ride! I have made it several times. Plus to be honest in that area there really is no bad roads to ride on, they are all great. But to me the Blue Ridge Parkway is the best!!!!

You get:

Little River Road
Foothills parkway (most of it anyway)
Cherohala Skyway
129 from Robbinsville to Deals Gap (nice)
Deals Gap
Hellbender 28
A little bit of 19 through Bryson City
Cherokee
441 to top of the mountain
Clingmans Dome
and then the other side of 441 down to Gatlinburg.

You'll be ready for a drink and a Nap afterwards...

Hope this helps.

Thats for sure, I got stuck in that pit for every bit of 2 hours. I'm going there at the end of this month, dragons tail up 129 and back 28 is nice, as well as the cherahola pkwy. This time were riding up the Blueridge pkwy to Roanoke, VA. haven't done that yet. When are you going to be there?

I agree with Cades Cove the only way to tour it on a bike with little hassle is early in the morning.
