Default Don't EVER, I mean EVER put a windshield on your bike

Not unless, you never want to ride without one again that is.... I rode my FXDL for 14 summers without a windshield. Never liked em', never wanted one. When I took delivery of our new Road King a little over 2 months ago, it came with one and I rode with it on since it was still quite cool at times. I now have over 1000 miles on, its ready for its first service and since it was mid 70's here today, I went for a ride without it. I have to say I like riding better with it on!

I got home, took my helmet off, and put the windshield on immediately!

yep......been there, done that. Doesn't take long to get over the "looks odd" factor does it?

Cool thing about the Kings is how easy it is to pop off on/off. I like to slow cruise locally when hot without but for runs of any real miles it is always on! Besides, the windshield pouch holds the door opener, cigs and sunglasses when we stop.

When I had my RK back in '05 I only rode windshield-less once or twice myself.

It really does spoil you. Loved the look without it but loved the ride with it on even more!

Go figure, I rode without one for decades, got a Road King and few year ago and now have an Ultra, can't even imagine being without a windshield now.

I had a giant bug of some kind hit mine dead center the other day. Sounded like it was hit with a hammer. That would have been right in my teeth, if not for the windshield. I've had black eyes, fat lips etc in the past from bugs and rocks. I'll only ride without my windshield around town. But it's always on when I'm heading down the highway. (And the wind protection is nice too.)

For me it's a windshield or a full face helmet. Either way my mug is safer from rocks and bugs. After getting my knee hit with a rock and needing stiches I will always have some form of covering on or in front of me.

When I had my road king I tried 3 different windshields and fairings and the Memphis Shades batwing was the best.
