Default Vance & Hines Touring Ovals, Repack

Anyone know how to get the V&H Touring Ovals apart to repack the fiberglass?

From what I have read, They don't have packing to begin with just a baffle. There was a post about them a day or two ago.

I have a slightly used set coming and am curius as to haw loud they are, say compared to the SE slip ons that were on my '04 King, which was just right for me.

To remove the baffles, below is a copy-paste of my comments from this thread: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-slip-ons.html

...Pull them off and spray PB Blaster or some kind of WD-40 stuff on the baffle bolts and around the baffle/outer can several times over several hours. When removing the two bolts that hold the baffle in, back them out until they get tight, then turn them in a turn or so kinda like one would do when using a tap cutting new threads, then back out. Repeat this process until the bolt comes out. Be patient or you will break the bolt or strip the Allen head in the bolt!

After you have the bolts out, stick a piece of a cut off broom handle in the inlet side and line it up with the rear of the baffle. Then whack it several sharp times on a solid surface while holding the muffler until it comes out. I used rubber gloves to get a better grip.

Getting the baffles back in will take some patience to get them lined up with the bolt holes.
