OK..wouldn't you know if your bike had ABS?

So I inquired about an '09 yesterday and the guy called back and said he's not sure if it has ABS doesn't remember when he bought it .... seriously? He said he'd call the dealer and let me know later, he thinks it has it because some wire is there [no idea what he was talking about]....

seems bogus to me but thought I'd check...would you not notice if you paid an extra $800 for a feature?

Thanks. I wish I could believe him...because it seems cool merlot/sunglo red ...although no cruise or security...I think it's bare bones....

LOL. This search is entertaining!!!

Its an option you had to pay for on the 09 model. I chose not to pay for the upgrade myself. If you're asking me if I think a lot of guys don't know what's on their bikes...I'd say that's true. The trottle twist, and the brakes work, engine starts...isn't that enough?

LOL...

I just would assume you'd notice shelling out $800 for something....no? Or perhaps he bought it from the showroom and didn't care what was on it?

Fingers crossed....

You would also notice the abs light blinking when you turn the bike on.

First of all the ABS is an option in all years but it comes from the factory that way and cant be added at the dealer. If the bike doesn't have cruise or security I doubt the dumb ass paid for an ABS bike. As fevest said, the ABS light blinking on the dash when you turn the ignition on would be a good indication it has ABS.

LOL. ABS light....obviously red flag if he doesn't notice....

now I found an interesting one in Chicago...guy one it in a raffle and it's still at the dealer...

he's checking the paperwork and calling me back but thinks it has ABS and cruise and it's the dark red hubby likes....

any advice there? He has it listed for $17,448....

thanks guys!!

I either missed it in your original post or don't see it anywhere. What kind of bike are we talking about?

TnTWalter Jun 16, 2010 08:56 AM

Im sorry...I didn't say FLHR Road King

KCFLHRC Jun 16, 2010 09:13 AM

If the bike is new with full warranty and has ABS and cruise then that's a pretty good deal.

I think the Road King Classic comes with ABS as standard but perhaps not the KIng.
