Thumbs up Quick and dirty RK fairing storage bracket

This is the good thing about having a Road King. I can ride with the windshield, with the fairing, or topless!
Going topless means having to leave the winshield and the fairing in the garage with the possibilities of getting all scratched out. So I made a wall mounting bracket out of two pieces of 2X6 screwed on to a piece of 1X6

The 2X6 are set exactly 11.5 in. apart on the outside, and the mounting points are some rubber bushings I found in the garage and some fender washers, the upper mount sits about 1 1/2 in. further towards the wall so that the fairing can mount straight up

close up of the mount

and my Dead Center

Now, If I go topless the winshield stays in a chair, and the fairing on the wall.
aaaahhhh..... peace of mind.

Regards,

Great idea, stuff is safer if they have a purposeful designated place.
I’d make another one, so you could have both hanging up at the same time.

I did the same thing kinda for my Tour Pak, Back Rest and Luggage Rack.

Great idea...i usually keep my windshield in the storage bag which is easy to hang, but when i take the fairing off, i could use this to store that out of the way, and away from the wife and kid!

Very Nice!
I would like to have one outside for a stable place to put it when I wash the bike. As it is now the windsheild sits on top of the trash can while I wash it and the bike.
Thanks for the idea.

That works! Mine is something like that for the shield (except not as nice). I've also got sone sheetrock screws in a board to hang my saddlegs. Cheap and easy, just the way I like it.
