Optimal cruising RPM range for a 103 cu inch
I just picked up a 2010 Ultra Limited and am new to the Harley experience. I'm interested in what seems to be the general consensus on optimal RPM range for cruising with the 103. Thanks in advance for your input.

103 is no different than a 96. If you mean in 6 th, then probably 2500 - 3500 rpm. I usually run 80 @ 3000 rpm on super slab.

6400 rpm at about 130. If you want to optimize cruising speed, if you are looking for fuel effieciency, probably something less than that.
(yes, I'm a smartass today.) |
Ride that bad boy like you stole it! All kidding aside, 2250 to 2750 is where I generally cruise, unless on the interstate in a hurry, then its at 3 or maybe a little more.

Keep it above 2500 RPM most of the time and shift in 6th after 70+ mph very ideal for your motor.

thanks for the input...

As fast as they will let me go. But, I don't have any fairing or windshield so wind is a limiting factor at times.
