Default LED illuminated windshield

Just saw this product in the Milwaukee Journal (mfg in WI) and thought this was really cool. The LEDs are embedded within the windshield...and there are different graphics within the windshield. Check it out! I do not work for this company, just a heads up on a cool product.

I live in WI and this guy is at a lot of bike shows. They are cool and look slick at night but all it is a lexan engraved shield with flexible led strips installed at the bottom. YOu could get our own engraving done and make your own but a cool product none the less

Always for sale on ebay(guessing same guy). Ask local law enforcement, and in Missouri would be illegal to run after dark.

I really question how you can see clearly through the windshield at night. The glow from the etching would be tough to see past. Not something I'd be willing to test out.

Default LED Illuminated windshield options: darkside shields

I've been looking around and I found this site: http://www.darksideshields.com/ I found him on ebay too.

The windshields seem a little different then the laser etched ones.

Here are a couple notes from the site:
42 led’s used to illuminate our windshields draw an extremely low 0.2 amp (2.4 watts) @ 12 volts. Several led’s running continuously draw less current than would naturally discharge from an idle battery. A charged battery will operate the windshield for many hours and still have enough reserve capacity to start the bike.

The big difference I see is the shields are made from polycarbonate, which means they can really take the abuse. The site seems to have a pretty stand up warranty. I talked to a couple buys from the ebay site, and they said they were super happy with and it is a high qaulit product.

Thought I'd share. I'm thinking up picking one up for my Electra Glide.

i have a friend who has an older sportster and his turn signals are also the front running lights. those lights tend to saturate the windshield and radiate out of the edges of the plastic windshield. it's very annoying for him when he rides at night. any nicks would also show up as bright spots when lit at night it'd seem.
