It seems to me that Hogtunes are somewhat overrated. I read more posts about people having blown out speakers that must be replaced. I'm not doubting that Pez stands behind his product & is wonderful to deal with, but all of that gets old when the product is defective. I read more posts that praise Pez than posts that say his products are good. I think you guys are in love with Pez! The stock speakers on my 06 Ultra sound great up to at least 85 mph with stock exhaust.

 

My question is what's blowing these speakers out? This is the 3 or 4th speaker on this forum that's blown out, that factory radio doesn't put out that much power[sm=wtf.gif]

 

well the factory radio not haveing all that much power is the problem...the singal cilps at max volume and that is what kills the speakers .that is the easiest way to explain it..more watts = less work to get same vol, so if you are cliping at high vol(sounds distorted) lower it or you can blow them out.3/4 vol should be max with out cliping in most apps. hope this sheds some lite( i used to do car audio for a living)
