I have two of them. One on each bike. Never had a problem. As far as accuracy, the oil level is accurate. I have never te3sted the temp side, but it sure seems to be close.

I had one of the older ones in my 01 Ultra with no problems. When I got my 10 Limited I had to get a new one because this one screws in. It worked fine for about 2 years but is now reading high oil. I would check it on a cold engine, which they say not to do, and it was down a little. On a hot engine you could not tell the level. I just changed the oil and to my suprise there was only 3 quarts not 4, including the oil filter. Has anyone heard anything about false high readings and maybe a way to clean them to make them return to accurate? Thanks a lot, and Limiteds do have oil coolers.

I've had one for three years and I'm still on the original battery. I've compared the level reading to the original dip stick and it is right one. I really like being able to check the oil without scalding my fingers and dripping oil on stuff. As to the rain comments it's been washed 100s of times and gone through countless Gulf South thunderstorms and I've not seen any signs of moisture intrusion.

Maybe I just got lucky with this unit.

Don't you think if it was important HD would have one from the factory?
Save your money and buy some spikes or skulls for your bike instead.
