Personally, I don't care for the deflectors. I don't have them on my bike and probably won't ever get them. Mostly because I met a bike with them today and was nearly blinded by the reflection. LOL Maybe wouldn't be bad with painted ones.

Most of us ride FL's so we are comfortable and not beat to death at the end of the day's ride! Most of us came up through the ranks of Sportsters, WideGlides and SofTails, so we've 'paid our dues' of 'being in the wind'! Some of us are even old enough to have enjoyed riding bare 'Knucks, Pans & Shovelheaded' EL's & FL's long before riding a H-D was considered 'cool'...or whatever!! So don't begrudge us the comfort we buy 'full dressers' for.

I run em and today on a 200 mile ride, temps in the low 90's my oil temp stayed in the 200-210 range. I do run an oil cooler and Mobil 15W-50 oil as well.

Been here 8 days, or less, and already the forum tough guy.

I just posted a response as this was all the OP was looking for, and didn't read the other responses but just went back and took a look to see what was going on. It never ceases to amaze me the crap these hard a$$ key punchers feel a need to post. The OP just wanted an opinion not a lecture for crying out loud!!!

the only way to really tell is to mount a Oil temp guage then run the bike with them and with out them and keep records of oil temp... has to be the same temp outsid and same riding conditions to truly find out if they make a difference... It just may be 'perceived' because some of the wind is gone and you can now feel more head off the engine..

Point taken and I am entitled to my opinion and I have been riding since 1967 and my first Harley was chopped Servicar 45 c.i. I've walked away from 4 serious crashes and a dozen "lay downs" so I've paid a little dues along the journey. When I see some of these bikes cruising around some just seem a little heavily accessorized but to each his own for sure.

Forgot to apologize, gents. Didn't mean to offend anyone. It was "smartass" and won't happen again. I just came across this "forum" thing and there are tons of valueable info and experiences that you all bring. Ride hard and ride safe.
