OK, so what are the rules regarding patch placement?
It has been a couple years since I joined H.O.G. and I finally have a vest to adorn with biker bling (OK, so I am not areal biker. I just like to ride my Harley with the wife and the dog for fun and adventure). I want to avoid looking like a dumba$$ when I wear my vest, so would someone let me in on the rules regarding where the patches go? (yes, I did a search but with less than adequate results)
Thanks

Poser rule #1: Put the patches all over the vest so that it matches all the other posers @ the HOG meeting. Otherwise try wearing the vest without them

...biting my tongue.....
Ok, in all seriousness, I think riding clothing looks better unadorned, but that's just my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of all the patches some riding clubs plaster all over their vests. But, hey, it's your vest and your ride, and I'm all for folks doing what they want to and wearing what they like.

Depends on the organization. Some MC's have very rigid rules on patch placement, some have rules for certain patches...others are whatever you like.
Most RC's or MC's (that I'm aware of) follow these basics, though:
Club patch (rockers and/or center) on the back (some restrict other patches there)
Chapter patch on front side (ours is left)
Name/officer patches front, opposite side of chapter patch
But if any group you ride with has rules, they'll tell ya when you join. No orientation usually means no rules.

It has always been my understanding that MC's don't include a three HOG patch placement as a threat.
So don't worry about it.
