Default on sepst what is active exhaust enable

using a 103 program with 255cams right now. only thing i dont like is how slow it turns over and starts when cold. when i used other programs trying things, the cams where wrong in the programs , the bike started much better but ran like crap with most programs where the cam didnt match. turning the cranking fuel setting up helps a bit but it still turns over slow and the starter grinds once and a while even with the manual decompression releases on. not so bad when its hot
I see another program with same engine kit with 255 cams and 1800 cc, but has 110 head so ve flows will probably be higher. on smart tune runs most of my cells increased values from program anyway. so if the flows are wrong the smart tune should even things back to reality.
now here is the question in the the program i want to try, it has an extra box in the tuning set up box. it has an extra window marked enable active exhaust control. this isnt in the other 103 program, Im wondering if i should click enable or disable.
i have 2009 ultra with 103kit with 255 cams.
have been running 205UH005-001 with 6 smart tune runs.
Components:
- SE Air Cleaner and Breather Kit P/N 29260-08
- SE Big Bore Cylinders P/N 16546-99 or 16549-99
- SE Big Bore Flat Top Pistons P/N 21966-07
- SE 255 Cams P/N 25638-07
- Race Exhaust
- ACR DISABLED
I want to try 205UJ004.dt0
SE Air Cleaner and Breather Kit P/N 29260-08
- 4" Big Bore Cylinders P/N 16555-07 or 16556-07
- 4" Flat Top Pistons
- CVO 110 Cylinder Heads
- SE 255 Cam P/N 25638-07
- Race Exhaust
- ACR is ON.
I will do a bunch or test runs to recalibrate the ve flows and wonder if I should set the active exhaust to enable or disable

That would be the Automatic Compression Release enable, if you have them installed this should be enabled if you don't have ACR's then don't enable them. If I am incorrect I apologize but I was just going over this today with the guy who will tune my bike.

Default its not acr

acr is the next box over. this is a different box that isnt in the other files. i already found out about having it set to acr enable without them being the automatic ones . you get 2 engine code faults. thanks but I already know about the acr setting and this isnt the same thing

Euro/Japan models have an active exhaust flap thing in the exhaust and intake system. Might be that? If your bike is in the US you can probably ignore that setting.

I've heard some folks having problems with slow cranking with the 103. A lot have tried using compression releases, bigger starter, checked the starter to battery cable, stuff like that. Have not heard anyone messing with the Tuner... Not sure you're attacking the problem in the right area but what do know. Good luck never-the-less.

Default sounds like a kips valve

I know the jap dirt bike had valve in the exhuast port to restrict the flow which pushed the torque up i believe. I cant see harley doing this but who knows thanks . some one out there must know for sure what it is , if not I'll be trying it disabled tomorrow if it doesnt start any better it wont matter anyway

No problem. Harley did in fact do it starting 09 I think? Dawg has the download on it. Pdf with all the changes for that year. I had it around here somewhere...

One last thing, I remember someone saying they helped their situation by retarding the timing on startup or something... ahh I'm getting old.

Default tried timng

i tried timing changes but in another post , a guy posted that the timing defaults to a zero setting until it starts, dont know if this true or not. I am wondering if the timing settings are different in the other program than mine. I dont really want to fool around with the timing since it can cause pinging, on a dyno you can see the difference timing makes, but my *** tune dyno, it isnt accurate enough to play with the timing
