Default Wood TW6-6 TW-555 Cam Dyno Test by Fuel Moto

As many of you know we have been very busy testing some of Bob Wood's Knight Prowler cam products. The objective of our current R&D is to test the difference between the Wood TW6-6 cams, the TW6-6 with +4 advance gear, and the new TW-555 cams. These tests will be performed on our 2010 Street Glide 96" bike which has the Jackpot 2/1/2 head pipe, Jackpot Dyno Tuned mufflers, Stage 1 air cleaner and Dynojet PC-V. For comparison we have also decided to use the Auto Tune module with the PC-V which will allow us to see the specific fuel trims it will apply as it learns the new combinations and we will then fine tune each setup on the dyno. This will also allow us to see the accuracy of our base map as it was developed on a different bike, different day, conditions etc...

Keith installed the Wood TW6-6 cams, loaded the specific Fuel Moto PC-V base map for this combinatinion into the PC-V and enabled the Auto Tune. We then put approx 30 miles on the bike which was enough to get a good population of fuel trims. You can note in the screenshots below of the fuel map that most trim values are within 10% and I would consider the base map very accurate, with more miles the AT will do an even better job of getting the map tuned in.

Cylinder #1 fuel trims that the PC-V Auto Tune populated

Cylinder #2 fuel trims that the Pc-V Auto Tune populated

We then put the bike up on the dyno for some testing. The conditions today are not the best as in our Dyno cell it is 80 degrees with 76% humidity however the bike makes very good power and is comparable to others we have tested with this combination. The AFR line is pretty good, especially considering we have not tuned it on the dyno and it was only ran 30 miles with the Auto Tune. Later today we will give it a full tune and post the results compared to what was populated from the Auto Tune and our base map.

2010 96" Touring model with Wood TW6-6 cams, Jackpot 2/1/2, Jackpot Dyno tuned mufflers, Stage 1 air cleaner PC-V. Tuning in this graph was populated with the Auto Tune module

We will post results from the dyno tune next and will immediately follow them with results from swapping the +4 advance gear as fast as we can cool the motor off allowing us to remove the exhaust and cam cover, get the gear swapped and everything back together. We will then put some miles on it with the Auto Tune, then back on the dyno.

More to come.........
