Default Help Identifying 03 FLHTI

Friend of mine wants this bike real bad. What makes it a Police Interceptor other than those stickers on the bags. What else should he look for?? Any known problems?

Thanks

the VIN# will reveal if it is a police bike. other than the bags and switches on the handle bar not much different mechanically.

the link that you supplied is an Electra Glide Standard...FLHTI
The "I" stands for fuel injected and nothing to do with police.
The fuel tank of a police bike did not contain the "100th" decals, emblems or graphics.
The Interceptor Sticker is not something from H-D...don't know where he would get it.
Note that the rear wheel is cast spoke aluminum wheel and the front is a laced steel wheel.
Fuel Injected Police models for that year were FLHPI and FLHTPI.
Not really sure what this is but it looks like maybe a pieced together bike??????? Only the Vin number will identify it's correct origin..

If it is a police bike there is nothing special about it....the engine, cams, tranny gear ratios and drive sprocket teeth count are the same as the pleasure models. Some might come behind me and say that for that year there were "A" and "B" cams and they are correct. The difference is that one was used in the Injected engines and the other in the Carb'ed engines. They were slightly different for the differences in the way fuel was delivered by the different systems.

Thats what has me wondering. "Police Interceptor" badges are right above the saddlebag latch. So I'm expecting more in the motor I guess

VIN # is 1HD1FVW1X3Y735413

Police vins will have FM or FH where you are showing FV. FV is for the FLHTI and is not a police bike.

2007 was the first year Police bikes came with 103's from the factory. They were all 88 prior to that....well except for the evo's prior to 1999.

So, what we have here is an EG Std with a fricken stick on badge. Sounds like its time for negotiating.

You shouldn't rely on a sticker for identification. They have correctly identified and described the bike in their ad and it is really not misrepresented.
But negotiation is always a good thing.
