I'm happy with the power and the sound. I just want a cooler right leg. What's the best way to do this without breaking the bank? Just a fuel tuner? Rip out the cat?
(and yeah, I've searched. Most threads I found seem to be about folks are looking for more sound and/or performance.)

Rip out the cat and a tuner. Or try this headpipe and a TTS Mastertune. They will even supply the map for your specific application.

I picked up a 2009 factorry headpipe In which it is the same cross under style except no catalyst, for 35$ changed it myself. the 02 sensors are heated on 11 but not on 09 so the bungs are higher and bigger. I am running a power commander v so I am not using the 02 sensors so that did not matter.

Gut the cat out of your stock head pipe. As long as you leave the stock air cleaner intact you do not need a tuner or down load. I just did mine and spent a total of $54.00. $4.00 on metal cutting disc's and $50.00 to have the section re-welded after I removed the cat. Probably spent 4 hours of my time in the garage turning wrenches and making sparks. Beats the heck out of buy a cat-less head pipe.

The least $ and the most results with cooler motor and more punch is to do this.
Cobra Fi2000r programmer, HD SE I breather, oil cooler, gut the cat and leave the mufflers stock for more torque. Total cost DIY $500.
To keep it under the 500 you must order the intake and cooler from a 20% off dealer. Wait for a 10 to 20 % off from J & P. 10% during Sturgis and 15 to 20 % of during winter holidays. That is when I got 20% off from them on the Cobra.
The Cobra programmer is a plug and play programmer that needs no dyno tune. A very quick and easy install on a Harley.
Take the heat shield off the area after the header collector, cut a rectangular window and dig the cat out. Not too bad of a job. Weld or have someone weld the plate back on and put the shield on.
The engine will now be very cool with the 12.1 to 1 AFR and oil cooler. It will go through Death Valley with 125 degree temps like mine did a few weeks ago and not miss a beat. Best $500 that I ever spent last winter. I will guess that the bike has about 10 more ft. lbs of torque now. Went up the mountains in Montana, Idaho and Washington in 6th gear going strong.
