Default anyone using Drag Specialities 12.5 Apes

I have made up my mind to change my handlebars to the 12" ape from the stock bars on my 2010 FLHR. I really like the wild ones/chubby #502. One of my friends said he has heard that the Drag Specialities 12" apes were really good as well. Has anybody used the Drag Specialties ones and what were your impressions. Thanks

I have never used the Drag Specialties version, but do know first ahnd that Wild 1's fit and finish is absolutely perfect. I prefer to spend a little bit more and only have to do it once as you get what you pay for in this world. I can get you either at a nice discount and yes, I do ship to Canada!

Yes. I have the bars through Drag Specialties (mine are only 10" though). My dealer swears by them and several of the guys run 'em on their rides.

The quality is absolutely perfect and you're not paying for the "name" that Wild1's has become so proud of over the years. Don't get me wrong, great bars (Wild1's), but the Drag Specialty bars are perfect as well.

The bars look great. Could you give me the rise and pullback dimensions. Thanks

Here they are from the Phat Performance catalog (these bars are made by the same plant and sold under several brand names). I love how wide they are at the base...makes for a killer look and he pullback is just right for me (6'2" with 34/35 inch sleeve length).

http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/...39&click=37735

Dimensions: 10" End Rise, 39" Width, 11.5" Center Width, 10" Pullback

You'll notice in the listing in Drag Specialties catalog they'll list many that show you where you can find other pics too.

Good luck.

If you decide to run the 12.5" bars and need some extended (+6) brake lines, I have some for sale in the classifieds. Brand new in package, never installed. Just changed my mind.

Can't say about anything about the Drag bars, but I have the Wild1's 12.5 and they are perfect.

I just bought some 12.5's buffalo bars from PhatPerf - in black. On the website they state the center width is 10". The bars I got are like 12-13" center width. Not what I wanted.
The bars looks great, quality seems great, but too wide in the center. I have a set of 515B wild1's and they are also advertised as having a 10" center. The buffalos are at least 3 inches or more wider than these.
Needless to say I going to return them. Just an FYI...

I have the Drag Specialties 14" Big Buffalo Bars and they fit me perfectly with my hands resting below shoulder height. I'm 5'8" and the stock RKC bars were killing my neck from reaching out so much. The finish on them is great also!
