When a person upgrades their Boom! 4.3 to the Boom! 6.5 unti, is the GPS antenna included in the box with the 6.5 unit or does it have to be purchased separately?

 

It came with the 6.5. You will have to go to the dealer to get maps loaded for the first time. One other thing when you install the radio it will beep beep beep at you and you cannot turn that beep beep off. You have to take it to the dealer to get flashed. The radio itself is very easy to install I did it the first time in about 45 minutes may take slightly longer if you're not familiar with getting in and out of the fairing. After the install and the dealer flashs it clear any codes it may have thrown. That's about all I remember about doing mine.

 

Separately. If you buy the unit used, no need to flash.

Looks to me like Sam is saying if it's NEW you'll need to get it all flashed.

Just Me says no flash needed if you buy a used one. I'll assume it's already been flashed.

I'm buying the unit BRAND NEW (not used) from HD or a distributor of HD parts. I just need to know if the GPS antenna comes in the box with the 6.5 unit or is it something that has to be purchased separately.

 

Mine came with the radio bought new.....
However I did buy mine when they first came our latter part 2013.

When i looked it up on harley site and did some Googling. I can see why you question if it comes with it. All the advertisements say radio only... I would call the Harley shop and ask them to make sure. I looked in the 2016 catalog and I couldn't figure it out one way or the other either. I don't have a 2017 catalog to check either.
