What are the main differences other than the 2-2/2-1 exhaust?
Trying to figure out which one to buy...

49 state bikes in 2009 - No Smog -

All USA Bikes in 2010 - Smog - all have a Cat. in the Header Pipe - Charcoal Canister

Buy the 2009 - with no Smog - My Calif. bike had full Smog - I uncorked it with 49 State header off ebay $ 100.00 , runs much cooler and stop frying my wiring next to head pipe and frame...

Just trying to keep up with all those wanting to run 2 into 1 for the performance side of it not thinking bout that cat in the headpipe. Then all the aftermarket muffler manufacturers made mufflers to keep up with the Jones's and for what ever stupid reason Harley went back to the 2-1-2. Been some messed up couple years with Harley if you ask me.

Just got a 10, and asking the guys at dealership...they said the same thing I figured:

Cat in exhaust
single exhaust
tail light (no box, stop/running integrated in the two turn signals)

Cant beleive no one else mentioned the fact that the 09 SG has the 17" front wheel... 2010 has the "upgraded" 18" front wheel. Or, the "heli-cut" 5th gear upgrade over the 2009 "straight-cut" gear that got all the noise complaints. Those are a couple pretty big differences I'd say. The exhaust system is a less significant difference since most Dudes go aftermarket "out-the-gate" anyway

you're right, the 17 inch tire is pretty much a hd/dunlop monopoly. at least with the 18, you are able to get an elite 3 in the proper size.

the 5th gear upgrade, i personally didn't notice that much anyway with the ids on my 07.

As far as the heli-cut vs the straight cut. The 09 is much stronger and I've never noticed the so-called whine. The 17" vs 18" front tire might be an advantage but I really don't know what it would be? From 1' to 18' away I doubt anyone would be able to distinguish the difference. The exhaust however is a big deal and I would stay away from the the catalytic 2-1 2010. You are looking at $500 just to get rid of the factory headpipe and if the epa police stop ya.......
