Gas tank draining

I took a 5/16 hose for one side and an adapter to shove in the hose ind and drained both sides at one time. If you have a large funnel it will fit fair close to drain into a gas jug. I took the left lower fairing off to make easy access and the funnel caught all of the drippings except for the few that ran dow to my elbow. Use a few rags to protect finishes and paint areas near by. Works like a dream. Good luck.

I take it this tank is not on your 08?
First tip is to make sure you have the tank as empty as possible. Second tip is to make sure you do it outside. Third tip is if it was recently run, then depressurize the system by pulling the fuse and stalling it and then attempt to start it a few times. Fourth tip is if it is pretty empty you can unbolt the tank and tilt it back to attempt to keep the gas to the rear.
