Opinion on WWW tire
 

Hello. I'm new here and have a question I could probably answer myself but would like other opinions.
I just bought a 05 RK FLHRI and the last owner had just put on a black wall rear tire. I want to replace the front with a WWW [it needs a new one].
Do you think it would look just to odd doing this?

Welcome to the site. I had a road king classic that had the WWW. I think they look great on the classic, but not sure I would put them on anything else.

I can also tell you they are a lot of maintenance to keep clean.

love the wide whites on my '05 RK.

I ride a 2007 Ultra Classic and a Big Dog Mastiff...I can't wait for the tires on my Ultra Classic to wear out so I can replace them with blackwalls....I never have liked whitewalls on anything.

i got them, they look really nice and i get a lot of compliments but i dont know if I would do it again. Even with an all white bike. it looks cool but i dont know if i would be ready to clean a bike like i clean this one. i spend 3hrs cleaning and 2hrs riding. I sometimes, would rather have an all black something so that i can just spray some water on it and ride. Now, i cant go to any bike night or rally without a 3 hr detail. I just bought a jack for the bike so maybe the detail job may get cut down 30 mins.

I would keep both the same. Both BW or both WWW, but that's me.

I took my WWW off and put BW tires on and it dose not look the same. As soon as the BW's wear out the WWW are going back on.

If you do put WWW's on, those Mr. Clean magic erasers clean them up like brand new.

So only Road King Classics look right with wide whites? LOL.

I've had them and loved them BUT I hated to clean them so as much as I liked them I wouldn't recommend them.

That said you barely see the back tire anyway . I had a road glide a while back were I put a solid spun powder coated black wheel on the back and a www tire on a spoked wheel on the front. It looked really good and was a lot easier to maintain. The bike was also lowered so it was even less noticable.

...like others have said..in my opinion, the only bike that looks "natural" with WWW's on is the Road King...and even then, I think only the RK Classic...definitely put them on both tires, or no-tires....need to be a pair...

Cleaning has NEVER been an issue....10 minutes and both tires are like new....that is unless you only wash your bike once every other month, then I could see it being an issue....Wesleys Bleach works wonders!!!

I love the look of the wide whites on the RK's and even on some other bikes. But.....I think the little "thin" whitewall looks like crap and personally much prefer the blackwall. JMHO.

The only bike that www looks good on is the one and only RK Classic. The rest look like pimp-mobiles. Wonder how many girls gasneed85low has working for him? ...LOL

The crazy part about it is when I pull into bike nights, the guys with the black bikes are kind of standoffish while the lady they rode with is whispering in their ear about how I have such a beautifull bike, like they would rather I give them a ride around the parking lot. I see it some times. Even my wife sees it when we are out on the bike. So, if it is a pimpmobile, I'm going to keep on pimpin, pimpin.

LOL Not so fast. My wife also likes the WW and I also get lots of women coming up (got to be careful fraternizing with other women when wife's around) and saying how much they like the WW's. By the way, I am new to this legend thing. :icon_mrgreen:

I like my WWW's on my 01 Ultra, as does the wife and most of the people we ride with. She also gets a little upset when strange women come up and tell me how good the bike looks.

Spence, make sure you get your sleep tonight because when you wake up, you will go get some pimping wide white and who knows,maybe you can be a legend too.j

So again, I will post a pic of a '65 Electra Glide, tell me that it doesn't look right?
