Do you guys recommend the 35W or 55W kits? I want to try these in my Road Glide since these guys are huge in the car world. Just not sure which one to go with.
Without a projector lens set up a HID bulb in a regular headlight will blind any driver coming at you. A projector focuses the lamp light ahead of you properly where the bulbs beam is fully utilized.

Incorrect. How many Harleys have a rectangle lamp that is for either hi or low beam because the one they tested was for a 4 lamp automobile system and not for a one or two lamp like those found with H-4 on either earlier cars like a 1969 Chevy Malibu or any motorcycle made by HD. This is a HD site and not a Ford Van.
Depending on whose HID kit you are using there is a converter on the bulb that directs the light onto the lamp (silver thing with glass). I should not post this because there are too many here that know way more then me. I have only been using them since 2005. I have them on all of my bikes and there is no difference in the light pattern than that of a halogen. You must aim your headlight like any other light you install.
There are those who read crap from Danial Stern's web site and only print 1/4 truths to further their own profit margin. The reason why this does not pertain to this form is because there is no rectangle lights (lamps) on HD's from the factory.
If you wish to use a HID or not, I do not care but please write correct information. To the OP, I would never have a headlight without using a HID. There are many who have posted the results including actual photos of the HID in actual use in the real world. Do your own research and take most you read here with a pound of salt, not a grain. I actually use them and do not read about what others who BS print.

The OP asked what wattage he should get. I am sorry to say I personally have no experience with anything other than a H-4 35 watt kit. This has a moving converter that focuses it onto your round motorcycle headlight. I can tell you that the light is great and I have never been flashed due to my headlight shining in someone else.s eyes. I found them to be very reliable. I have been using them for around five or six years and would not have a bike without them. I own a 55 Watt kit but have not installed it.

Thanks for the response. I am mainly concerned with heat issues by using the 55W. I'll just have to do some more research on this.
