Default Apes, what is up with these?

Can someone please explain what is up with putting apes on street glides, road glides, and electra glides?

I even saw a set on a V-rod at my dealer.

Is it even comfortable to ride like that for a hundred or so miles?

I think some of the fair bikes look great with the right apes on them. I've ridden several ape hanger bikes and found them to very comfortable.

How tall are you talking about? It seems like everything taller than stock is called "apes" now-a-days. The 10" or 12" are very comfortable, but the 16" are too tall for my personal taste

I like them on almost any bike but I also like drag bars. What ever floats your boat. I do agree they don't belong on a V-Rod.
