How to Identify ABS Option

How do you determine if an Ultra Classic ('08) has optional ABS? Is there a black box? Does the VIN identify the option?

Check under the right side cover and see if you have the ABS box under there.

If you still can't tell, PM me your VIN and I will tell you if you have it or not.

Look at the right side steering neck area...just in front of the tank you should see two black tubes if it has ABS

There is a sensor the size of a quarter in the brake rotor

and an extra line going to the caliper

All of the above... And, there should be an ABS icon on the gauge that blinks until the bike hits 3-5 mph. This is the case on '09+, but not 100% sure about '08's.

The front wheel spacer on the left side will be black with ABS. Without ABS it's silver and looks like any other model year.

Yeah, my 08 SG has the flashing ABS light at 3-5mph.

I say get it up to around 60 mph and lock down both brakes as tight as you can! If you don't crash, it has ABS.
