I agree with Ed Y it can be PIA often if you don't align metal inserts correctly. I use Nolan now it's the easiest to use and very adjustable even with one hand.

when I buy a new helmet I always buy new one with it , when I want to ride I don't want to wast time with thhat strap

Helmet strap quick clip
Once you get used to it you will love it. I would not go without mine.
