I read where you can remove the muffler and use a core cutter that is extended but I can't remember what size they used. The only thing I see in the way or the 2-O2 censers that can be removed before drilling.

That's because most mods affect the accuracy of the throttle position sensors in the rider's master control system.

The fix is well documented on this forum. You just need more mods.

Just change from an 09 California Head pipe with cat to a federal pipe no cat and it sounds much better. Will be even better when I get the Rineharts on.

Unhappy

I think that's what I might end up doing if I can't get my answer.

I cut mine in half in the middle of the cat, chizled it out and welded it back together, works just fine and cuts the heat way down. Put some older SE slipons (ebay 50$) on and it sound great , way better than droping a grand on a whole new setup.

The best way is to take the head pipe off the bike, (Or buy a take-off from e-bay or the classifieds here). cut the pipe in the center of the cat. I used a horizontal ban saw we have at work. Thats where I'm at right now. (not my pic but this is what it will look like) Tomorrow I'm going to use a sawz-all and cut around the "guts" and pull them out. My Indy is going to tig weld it back together Friday.

Just remove them before gutting the cat. With the '10's I would be concerned about reversion causing "cross talk" between them. The '09's they are in a different location.
