I bought a 2009(no cat) headpipe from a forum member for my 2010 Limited. Will be installing a PCV from FuelMoto and a SE air cleaner. Maybe Jackpots later. That is my cheap way out.

I have been thinking the same exact thing. In a sense if u put a set of thunderheader slip ons on, then I would think u would get the same performance of their two Into one with falsee. With only a third of the price involved.

The O2 sensors are BEFORE the cat so how or why would they "cross talk" by removing the cat. there has been a lot of threads on this subject here and I don't think this is an issue. I'll find out come April when I get to ride again.

The negative pulse wave travels back to the exhaust valve, which may mess with your afv's.

it was explained to me by Doc of Docsperformance that the cat does keep the sensors from cross talk. Doc knows more about dyno tuning then anyone I know.

Jeff
There is one 02 sensor that is in a tube and but the other is not protected because it is in the big void that the cat used to fill. The Cat provides enough back pressure to protect the one sensor in the big area and the cat stops 99% or the reversion (negitive pulse wave) coming back up the pipe. When you remove the cat reversion takes over taht void and the 02 sensors will now cross talk........I know this for a fact Jeff I'm not guessing or blowing smoke. Both 02 sensors have to be in a tube at least 6'' to stop the cross talk.

So, is a tuner the only way around the O2 sensor issue on 2010 models?

Yes and no, depends on the tuner. Now if you removed and plugged the sensor holes in the 10 and 11 models then welded in 18mm bungs in the same location as the 09 bikes u could utilize an auto tune type tuner. Otherwise i would imagine u would have to use a tuner that does not rely on the sensors at all.

SESPT, TTS and possibly the new PV from dynojet will work with stock sensors on the '10's and 11's. To sample anything over 80kpa with the cat in place, holes have to be drilled in the pipes to sample the afr. A great solution is Fuelmoto's head pipes. Well done and have bungs for both sizes of sensors.
