Well I can not feel that much of a difference between the 96 and the 103? I rode them both, but Sorry could not ?
The ABS and the Oil Cooler yes you can add them on to a 96 and save another $1K and if you feel that you need MORE HP then go get the Cams and Big Bore it to 107, THAT is where you will get what you want not the 103 but the 107 AND it may cost you less overall?
HP is relative whats FAST to some IS DEAD SLOW to others?

I would not put the million 96's out there as a SLOW bike or say that the 103 is MUCH better then the 96 either.

From what I have read on here it seems that the only engine to get is the 103???
But like I said I do not feel that much of a difference and if I have to have HP I will put it on my 96 and get a better HP engine at a CHEAPER price ?

If you are happy with your 96, that that is what matters.

The man asked for opinions, and he got some. The fact that you don't like others opinions....doesn't make you right and others wrong.

I agree with whatever you want..96 or 103 to each his own...the only people I don't understand is buying a new bike and cracking open a brand new engine to add internal parts. Perfectly new engine... I would suggest waiting, do a stage 1, then decide. But for pete sake, leave the new engine alone...

I just got a Ultra limited. Which is a power pack with a bunch of other stuff. That is the only way to go.

Me personally I would never own another touring bike with out ABS.
