We don't even know what year/model bagger he wanted to automate. Only automated lids I've seen were on custom bags, not stock bags & none of those had tour packs.

Seems a bit touchy to me. I was afraid to ask for more info in order to try to steer him the right direction.

I didn't see anyone respond with a solution. I revived this thread less than 24 hours ago though so maybe someone who knows will chime in later. Glad to see others interested instead of getting their panties in a wad though.

Really. I'm not touchy. But I will push back when pushed. What more info could you possibly need to discuss automating saddlebags or to steer me in the right direction? They're Harley saddlebags. As stated in the OP.

Have you tried to leave a comment/question for the publisher(s) of the videos you've seen? They may be able to answer your questions.

Great idea! One of them is out of business. Gator Bags. One other I tried but they won't sell the hinges only. They do custom work. I can try leaving a comment for the others. Thanks !

While we are on the subject automation, is there a kit for the jiffy stand to be moved down when you park and retract when you are ready to leave?

Not exactly automated, but anything's possible:

Harley saddlebags doesn't mean ****. HD has at least 3 different saddlebag lid designs & the approach for each will be different, since at least 2 of the 3 lid designs will require redesigned hinges as well as the automated opening device. But, I guess that info isn't important?

And yes, you ARE touchy.

Do you have an automated solution for any of these three oh so different saddlebag designs?

Ha so you've got NOTHING. None of the 3. You have NO direction to steer anyone.

But hey I get it, you were scared to ask. 😂
