Differences between EG Standard, Ultra Classic, & Ultra Limited?

Can't find the answers I am looking for, and it's a pain back and forth on the harley website, can someone please spell out for me the differences between the three models, far as I can tell this is where I am at:

EG Classic- No heated grips, no rear speakers, 40W stereo, no CB, powerpak not standard

Ultra Classic- Rear speakers, 80W stereo, powerpak not standard

Ultra Limited- Heated grips, 80W stereo, CB, 103 standard, extra for security and ABS

Any help here would be appreciated. Trying to make sense of the three models, but it basically looks like if one were going to get an EG Standard, or Ultra Classic and opt for the powerpak (103, ABS, etc) you might as well just get the limited and deal with the stuff you won't use....

EG Standard? that model went away no?

Maybe you mean EG Classic no fairing lowers either or tourpak side marker lights

Ultra add fairing lowers and tourpak side marker lights

Ultra Limited- add to the list fairing lowers, tourpak side marker lights, special colors, no saddlebag bars

and then badges are different- the classic has decals on the tank and front fender trim.

all 3 models have the same suspension ( FLHX Street Glide has rear lowered 1")

The Harley- Davidson model alphabet soup is a fun game- decoder ring helps!

BTW I'm on my 2nd EG Classic- don't need the rear speakers or CB.
The Classic is easier to strip down ( remove tourpak) as the wiring is less complicated.
The big Tbag can't fit on the rear seat on models with rear speakers.
the optional ABS, security and cruise control are well worth it.
I add fairing lowers as well

If your question is should I go ahead and spend the money for the Limited I would say yes, it is cheaper that way. I have spent the extra money and it is costly to make mine similar to the Limite Ultra Classic... Just MOP

I don't know about now but the 09 classic didn't have heat shields.

Is there no dealer to give you a buyers guide listing the different bikes? If not, email HD directly. Then you can go over the minor details, as well as the obvious major differences.

The Limited also has chrome rims and the ultra has polished aluminum. Limited also has 12 volt power accessory point in tour pak.

2009 was the last year HD made a FLHT STD Electraglide Std. I had a 2007 FLHT STD. motor color was silver, engine had polished parts (NOT CHROME) no radio,2 gauges(oil press & volt) had speedo & tach, front & rear fenfers had no bumpers. no tourpack,no lowers, no extra bars covering sides of saddles,no cruise control. I may have missed something. It was a stripped down ElectraGlide Classic. Paint was solid colors only. It was a great bike for the price.

The Limited also has Titanium Face Gauges. I decided on the Limited, comes with everything on my must have list.

Punjabi Rider 03-02-2011 06:09 PM

Just go to Harley web site and see all the different equipments. Or in simple words one is cheaper next expensive and last one is very expensive.

About $2000 a model. Without options. If you plan on adding them on anyway go big... it will cost you more to modify up. If you ever trade the stock bikes with factory extras are worth more than a less expensive model with the same options. They give you virtually nothing for add ons. Go to the HD site and do the Bike Comparison it spells out most of the differences... but not all.

Well I did something absolutely insane, but the dealer enticed me too much.

They gave me $19,500 trade in for my 2010 RKC if I left on the slip ons and the Carlini Evil Apes 17" and all the lines and internal wiring.

So in a couple of hourse I am on my way down to pick up my new 2011 Ultra Limited in the two tone candy root beer color.

I was looking at a SG/RG, but with paying for the 103 power pak, and later adding lowers and a tour pak, I figured just get the top dog bike and call it a day. I will be the laughing stock of the crew of the young guys I ride with, but I will be comfortable. For $2k more than a RG/SG custom with the power pak, I am getting everything.

Got a trip planned for next month already. Can't wait to ride today, pictures to follow later.

Never thought it would be at age 30, but I now ride a full dresser. :icon_nut:

Drop in a set of 255 cams, rinehart true duals and a seac and they will laugh no more! Should be 90+ hp and 100 tq. Have a friend with that set up and it is strong!

Congradulations, smart move!

Thanks guys, 100 miles and running strong, going out again now. I LOVE this bike. And today the wind is gusting 15-20 MPH here, what a difference.

Differences between EG Standard, Ultra Classic, & Ultra Limited?

Sorry everyone, but I'm being a little nit-picky about your description of the difference between an EG Standard, Ultra Classic & an Ultra Limited. I've seen mentioned that a CB is standard on the latter two. That it is incorrect. A CD or Compact Disc is standard, but not a CB or Citizens Band Radio. So we don't have a convoy, but with a CD you could play, "I can't drive 55!"

Every Ultra that I've ever seen, comes with the CB and Intercom and the Limited is a step up from there,

Uncle Larry 03-31-2013 08:38 AM

Electra Glide ... $$$
Ultra Classic ... $$$$$
Ultra Limited ... $$$$$$$
'Nuff said!

Umm... CB is standard on the Ultra Classic . As well as the CD.

NDBadlands4-2 03-31-2013 08:51 AM

Congrats on the new bike. You will love it.

Sagido 03-31-2013 09:13 AM

Congratulations on the new bike. Wish you many safe miles of travel. Your young guys heckling you will be well worth suffering in COMFORT. Road a softail for a long time, and since I have been on on Ultra I won't be looking back.

kirbyblue 09-01-2013 05:28 PM

I like my '06 standard so much, I dont ever plan to buy a new bike. At the end of the day I end up at the same place as those with new bikes and have some dinner and beer money

MNPGRider 09-01-2013 08:02 PM

With the 2014's now out, this resurrected thread is now all in error! the EG Standard no longer exists, the Ultra does not have a CB radio, and the Limited has watercooled heads.

And redhawke44 was a one post wonder.

98Ultra 09-03-2013 06:26 AM

The Ultra lost the CB? I wondered what they meant by dual cooling.

frhrwa 04-09-2019 10:48 PM

ok.. I got what FLH stands for, but what does "TK" stand for on a 2013 FLHTK model?
