I will tell you what just about everyone that puts apes on for the first time says. Go bigger than you think you want. I was going to go with the 10" monkey bars but wound up with 12s. I absolutely love them but if I were to do it over again I would go 14" or maybe 16". And yes, they will all be a little different. I have 12s and a buddy has HCC 13s and mine are significantly taller, his are wider. You really need to check them out at bike nights and rallys. Each brand is a little different in height, width, and hand position. Even when they claim similar measurments.

For all with 10-12" bars, do you get tired after longer rides? I had a set of 12" apes on my Sporty, and I always got tired. Might have been the angle they were at made it harder to hold on, but just curious.
Also, does the fairing still function as it would normally? Keeping wind/bugs off your knuckles? What about fairing mounted mirrors? Speakers still work normally?

I have the 12" monkeys still have the stock mirrors. Have 25,000 mi with them no discomfort on long ride. stock bars killed me on long rides
