Default How big of a job is changing inner primary seal?

I need to change the inner primary seal on my 1996 flhtcu. Is this something that can be done by someone who is not a mechanic but is fairly handy around a garage and can read a manual. Is this a tricky job or pretty straight forward?

If your comfortable with wrenches its a straight forward job with a manual in hand. This should give you some idea whats needed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoZ4V...eature=related

I tried it twice and twice I ended up bringing it in to the dealer to fix. Its harder than it looks and I'm ok with the wrenches. I even read the manual and couldnt get it right.

I've done it a few times without any issues...an impact wrench and the proper sockets are all you really need. The manual will get you through it. Go ahead and replace all the seals you can while you have it apart.

Yeah, but don't ever use an impact on the clutch hub. 80 lbs torque with a left hand thread. That's why God created torque wrenches.

Simple job. 2 hours tops, if you've never done one.
