Default Splice XM antenna?

Bought one of the $39 Sportcaster XM setups for my E Glide. Small unit that can be velcro'd right to the dash. Problem is they come with about 30 feet of antenna wire. Can this wire be cut/spliced without affecting reception?

I did this. I cut it (to 3 ft.), spliced it and then got no signal. I was lucky enough to have another antena. I paid $29 for my Sportscaster and then got a $20 rebate. That's xm on the cheap.

Thanks. Guess I'll have to wrap it in a tight bundle then.

Thanks Gilbos...that's exactly what I need......same price as the radio, though.....was hoping to avoid that, but I think this unit will give me a pretty clean install.
Many Garcias....

A little OT. Does this unit have to use the FM Modulator, or can you use the line-in on the HK head unit??

I tried it through the line-in but max volume was very low. For me hit has worked very well through the FM Modulator. This has allowed me to completely eliminate the rear antenna

I got mine at Circuit City in Huntsville, AL about two months ago. The good thing about this unit, other than the price, is it doesn't require a docking station. You can just plug the power and antenna into the small unit itself.
