09 Streetglide wont Start Shes running now
Here whats happening guys...
The radio comes on
the fuel pump can be heard
The lights can be seen
There are no codes thrown
The terminals on the battery are tight and clean
There are not any flashing lights associated with the alarm system indicating the fob isn't doing what its supposed to be doing
The fob seems to be disarming and arming the system like its supposed to...
Voltage on battery is 12.22 vts
The bike is a daily rider this week and has been running like a top
ran great this morning to work, but at the end of the day there was nothing other then what I stated earlier...not even the starter trying to turn over...no clicking...nothing...just silence
Bike was running great then the next time I try to start it its silent...
lets try and figure this out before I have to have the stealer find the problem and fix it...
Thanks for any help you can track down to...
I have it running now
After work today I swapped out the starter relay with the system relay and when I plugged the starter relay back in I installed it one fuse slot higher then where it should have been...So when I got home I started trouble shooting it and loosened up the +/_ cables and re tightened them, but since the bike wouldn't start I went on trouble shooting...Then as a last ditch I looked into the fuse panel again and noticed that the 2 relays weren't on the same playing field...made them the same and she fired right up...Turned the bike off and swapped them out again and she fired right up so I figure the problem was the battery cables not making a good connection...

12.2 volts sounds awfully low to me. With the newer electronic fuel injection and the headlights being on and whatever else the battery has to run, it doesn't take much drop to keep the starter from working.
How did you get it running? Swapping components?

it turned out it was a combination of 2 things
One when the relays were swapped I didn't locate the relay back into the proper 4 slots so all I had were 2 slots off the fuse panel that were making contact to the 4 posts on the relay...
After the bike got towed home I started to trouble shoot again and wanted to make sure the battery terminals were tight so I removed all the stuff on top of the battery and loosened then re tightened the bolts to the +/-
However it still wouldn't start so I removed the side cover and started to check the fuses one more time and realized that the relay was not in line with the other relay so after I relocated it it then started...
Bottom line is I feel it was the battery terminals that needed to be addressed not the relay...
as far as the voltage being low I'm incline to agree with you it does seem low and I'll check it tomarrow when I get home to see what it is after the bike has had a chance to get a charge on it...
