Default Police Road Kings worth more or less than a regular one?

so ive been looking for a new bike for a while now that ive sold my Hayabusa....i had a Harley before and im looking to get back on one.....

ive found a few Road Kings that are Police versions are they worth more or less than a standard King since they have the 103 and ABS....but then they also have different parts that dont quite look the same etc

Not all flhp's are 103's. My 07 is a 96" non-abs. It had almost 38,000 on it when I bought it for $7,900. It had a few undisclosed bugs in it that I've been able to remedy for about $300.00. Overall I feel that I got a very good buy on the bike. Take each bike on it's own merits and know what the going market price is. What's a good price for me may not be for you. Especially if you have to hire a mechanic for any problems that you may encounter.

I have a 2008 RK police model and I think it was good move. It was 1 years old and had 1200 miles on it. I saved 5,000 bucks off new. At 340 lbs. the 103ci is a plus. You may have some wiring issues with handlebar switches when it comes to accessories. Things like cruise, or garage door openers. But a good mechanic should be able to deal with those things. The thing I like the best is the BIG police solo seat. I have not had any problems with mine at all, and now have 12,000 miles on it. Good luck with whatever you choose.

..to answer your original question...they are generally worth LESS than the other Road King models...they have less chrome....cheaper to produce paint -jobs...less seating...etc..etc...anmd those damn "Hockey Puck" saddlebag latches!!!

Looks like a nice bike and would be a good buy at the present price however unless I missed it, you don't know what the reserve is since it hasn't been met yet.

Yeah, just browsing around at used bikes at the local dealers regularly, I've noticed they sell for less. Sometimes quite a bit less.

I thought I read once that the electrical system on that bike was made for cop stuff (24volt?) and would have to be/should be changed or something? Don't quote me on that.

If I were you, I'd think this through a little more. I mean, a Street Bob and a "bagger" are two totally different things. I love them both, but you better think about which one would suit your needs more before buying.

Or just buy both. That would be totally badass.
