Default XIED install on 2011 streetglide (PICS)

Today I installed my XIEDS on my new 2011 Streetglide.

First off you have to pull the right side bag off, then the side cover.

This is what you will sse:

Push on the little tabs and gently pull down to disconnect. The grey one is one cylinder, the black is the other cylinder

Here is what the XIED's for 2010+ Touring bikes look like out of the packaging:

Then you just match color for color and clip them in. Steve obviously used stock clips. The quality on everything is top notch.

Then, a couple tie wraps, and taking your time, you can get them tucked in there nicely. Make sure you stick your hand behind them and keep them away from the rear tire

Then you feed both negative leads over to the battery and put them under the negative pole on the battery.

Wipe everything down and put everything back. Your engine will love you for the cooler temps.

EASY.

Nope - No!
Can’t believe that.
All I ever heard was the "newer" bikes don’t need those.

On a lighter note. I used them on my 08 at first. When I finally got it dyno tuned properly I could not believe the difference. And I fought someone on here once even suggesting that I needed it.
I was wrong.

Cool though. I like the way they install them now.

I'm just looking for a temp. drop......I have all the torque I need. If she stays around 240 degrees and lower, then I'm happy.

I'm strongly considering this too. Ma throw a set of slip-ons one day. It looks like it's going to rain here everyday next week, so I may take the time to tackle the cat removal. I used the xied's on my Dyna before moving to a PCV once I changed the A/C. Probably didn't need to even use the PCV in hind sight.

I can tell you the PCV map I was using for my Thunderheader richened the bike so much I doped about 15mpg. That's substantial with a 4.3gal gas tank.

Did you notice a substantial drop in mpg with your xied's?

So both connectors go inside that panel? Nothing up front by the front cylinder/compensator?

Front cylinder/compensator....is that like a flux capacitor?

That silver box is for the ABS.

Everything works fine.....just follow my pics above.
