Changed stage 1 air filter today. The old one had the foam/rubber gasket break apart. Put the new filter on and evenly tightened 3 screws finger tight. While putting the final 60 inlbs of torque on the screws the filter crushed and deformed a bit, not good. I did find the 3 spacer/studs that hold the backing plate on loose and torqued them to spec before installing the new filter. Any ideas on what caused the new filter to crush? Maybe a gasket problem behind the backing plate? Thanks for any help.

Its all good ride it. For what ever reason some filters are a tad tall. I am one who uses new filters i dont mess with washing them. Some filters crush a little???
