Got laid off July 1st, last pay & severance came thru today so took a little ride out around Saguaro Lake to celebrate. Checked brakes afterwards, front getting a little low, have EBC HH pads ready to go & need to get on installing the new front tire.

Installed the last piece of my stage I, a DK Custom Outlaw HiFlow-587 a/c ( http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/blac...587-bcy-tc.htm ) and Stealth External Breather kit ( http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/stea...-sd-ebs-tc.htm ). It really woke the bike up, now it's not being strangled by the factory a/c.

do you have a picture of this? I am about to do this to my 08 ultra, going to delete the guards from the saddlebags as well. How hard was the install?

Yea the severance was pretty good as I had the same job for 20 yrs, 5 mos. Nice to have a break & spend time w my teenagers before school starts. The wife has a pretty good job so not gonna starve but will lose my health ins/benefits at the end of the month. We'll see, at least the overall economy is doing well. Not worried about finding another job, worrying about the pay at the next job.

We had "lay-offs" at the district and I took a golden handshake at 54...I was up against 25-30 year olds in my job market, and had supervisor certifications. Needless to say I couldn't find a job in my field. I seemed to scare the guys I interviewed with since I had much higher certs than they held......lol. I called about taking my retirement early....I lost $19.00 a month by retiring early. Had to do some "rearranging" for it, that was 7 years ago. Best thing I ever did.

I finally had the time to install my custom bars. Originally, I wanted to get my Indie to do this and let me assist so I could figure it out for the future. The shop is busy and I was anxious, so I started the job Thursday night and finished yesterday. Bars are 16" FMB Phatty Blazed, 8" pullback and 33" wide, per my specs. I had them shipped raw and then had them chromed up here, so the project wasn't cheap.

I can't say I enjoyed pulling the plugs and running the internal wires, it was a lot of work, but I got it done and saved myself $400 as the shop would have charged 4 hours; I wish it only took me 4 hours.

I had to take them for a test spin, so a friend and I headed up to Whistler and back

Yea I interviewed at one of the subsidiaries nearby & they basically offered me a similar job doing more work for $11,000 less. I said thanks but I'll take the 10 wks severance & my 63 hrs vacation thank you very much. So we'll see what happens. Longest work break I've had in 25 yrs, enjoying the crap out of it so far!!
